Common questions
Is donating money for food better than donating pet food?
Usually, for rescues overseas: money can buy suitable food locally, in bulk, without shipping costs. Your donation goes to WARN, which is developing its grant-making: it assesses animal-welfare organisations before agreeing support and publishes grant records as they become available.
What does a day of food cost for an elephant?
We do not publish a measured figure. The “A day of sanctuary food” tag has a suggested amount of £20, named after a day of forage, fruit and vegetables for one rescued elephant, which can eat up to 150kg a day. The donation goes to WARN’s general fund.
