What data does charity-shop.org collect?

Almost none. There are no accounts, no login and no cookies of our own; analytics run on privacy-friendly, cookie-free Plausible. Card payments are handled by Stripe for World Animal Rescue Network CIC — we never see or store card numbers. Gift personalisation travels with your donation so it can appear on your certificate.

Who we are

Charity Shop UK ([email protected]) is the shop window. Donations are received by WORLD ANIMAL RESCUE NETWORK CIC (Company no. 17298990), a Community Interest Company with a statutory asset lock.

Payments

Card checkout is processed by Stripe on behalf of World Animal Rescue Network CIC. We do not store card numbers; Stripe handles payment details under Stripe's privacy policy. If checkout is unavailable, you may complete your gift on World Animal Rescue Network's platform instead.

What this site collects

Very little. There are no accounts and no login. We set no cookies of our own. Gift personalisation (names, occasions) travels to WARN with your donation link so it can appear on a certificate — we do not store it on this site.

The "near me" location button

If you use "show charity shops near me", your browser asks permission and uses coordinates to open Google Maps. The coordinates are sent to Google, not to Charity Shop. A town or postcode search also goes directly to Google Maps. Charity Shop does not store your search or coordinates.

Analytics

We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It counts page views in aggregate, uses no cookies, and does not track you across other websites. Plausible is operated by Plausible Insights OÜ; their privacy policy applies to that processing. Analytics are disabled on donation review, checkout and confirmation pages, so gift names and payment-session links on those pages are not sent to Plausible.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard request logs (IP address, pages requested) for security and delivery, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
