How do charity wedding favours work?
Instead of buying trinkets, you make a donation in your guests’ honour. Each table — or each guest — gets a card saying what their favour funded: a week of meals for a rescue dog is £10, a kitten’s vaccination £12. Guests keep the story, and the money does real work.
Why donation favours work
Sugared almonds get left on tables; a story does not. A favour that says "your place at this table fed a rescue dog for a week" gives guests something to talk about over dinner and something to keep afterwards — and it puts the favour budget to work instead of into landfill. For couples who would rather their wedding fed rescued animals than filled drawers, it is the obvious swap.
How it works here
Choose costed gift tags from the catalogue — each is priced at the real cost of a named piece of care — and donate for the tables or guests you want to cover. You receive personalised e-certificates to print, one per table or per guest, naming what that favour funded. Example budgets
Ten tables at £10 a table — a week of meals for a rescue dog — is £100, and feeds rescue dogs for ten weeks. Eighty guests at £5 a head — feeding an orphaned hoglet — is £400. Wording ideas for your favour cards
Keep it short and specific. Three that work: "Instead of a favour, we have fed a rescue dog for a week in your honour." — "This table has vaccinated eight kittens. Thank you for celebrating with us." — "In honour of our guests, a hedgehog will be kept warm and fed through the winter." Can each table fund a different animal?
Yes. Mix tags across the catalogue — dogs on one table, hedgehogs on the next, an elephant month for the top table — and each certificate names that table’s animal and the exact care it funded, so every table has its own story.
How far ahead should we order?
A few weeks is comfortable. E-certificates arrive by email within minutes of donating, but for personalised group orders email [email protected] two to three weeks before the wedding so names, tables and dates are exactly right.
Can guests add their own donations?
Yes — many couples add a short link to the favour card or the order of service so guests who want to do more can give in the couple’s honour. It costs you nothing to include, and guests often ask for it.
