Do charity wedding favours actually work?
They work when guests get a clear sentence, not a miniature jam they will abandon. You give animal-rescue gifts to WARN’s general fund at suggested amounts — from £5 — and display gift cards you print from Charity Shop on the tables, or email them to guests afterwards. Say on the place card which care the favour is named after and who received the money, not a mystery “donation”. Skip this if your guests wanted edible favours they can eat at 11pm.
Who should skip this: Skip charity favours if your families will read them as a slight, if you needed Gift Aid, or if you promised sugared almonds in the stationery already. Do not surprise relatives who find animal charities political. Ask.
How do animal-rescue wedding favours work here?
You choose a gift tag per guest, per couple, or per table, and pay on WARN’s page. Then print a gift card from Charity Shop for each table, with the names you want on it, or one page listing what the room gave. There is no live animal at the reception. There is a sentence guests can understand while they eat cake.
A table of eight at £10 each is £80 to WARN’s general fund, given as eight dog-meal tags. Say that number on the card. “We donated to animals” is weaker than arithmetic. Make the table cards on the printable gift card page.
Per guest, per table, or one gift for the day — which is better?
Per table is usually enough: one card, one number, less paper. Per guest is generous and expensive. One gift for the whole wedding is simplest and can feel abstract unless you print a large total. Pick the scale you can explain in one breath.

How do you tell guests without sounding preachy?
One line on the place card or a small table sign. Thank them for celebrating; mention the care the gift is named after. Do not lecture about meat, leather, or anyone else’s marriage. A favour is a gift, not a campaign stall.
If you are also giving a traditional edible favour, say the charity gift is instead of a second object, not instead of dinner.
What should you budget?
From £5 per unit. Work backwards from the number of tables. Do not spend the wine budget on favours you will then resent. A smaller gift you are proud of beats a lavish one you cannot explain.

What belongs on the invitation or table card?
Who receives the money, which kind of care the tag is named after, and that there is no live animal. One or two sentences. If someone asks whether they can Gift Aid it, the true answer here is no — WARN is a CIC. Write that down before a relative asks over cake.
Do not print a charity number that does not exist. Do not use a stock photo of an animal that is not in the catalogue. Guests forgive a small favour; they do not forgive a story that unravels when they search Companies House on the train home.
When are charity favours the wrong wedding choice?
When guests needed something to eat, when relatives will take offence, or when you cannot name the organisation on the card. Also when you wanted Gift Aid on each guest’s “gift”.

The verdict: should your favours be animal gifts?
Yes if you want less landfill and a number you can say aloud. Use per-table gift cards, name the care, and skip the lecture. No if your guests wanted almonds, or if you cannot be honest about who receives the money.

Can each guest have a different animal?
Yes, but it is a lot of cards. Per table with one species is easier to display.
Will guests get an email?
Not from WARN: it emails you, the payer, a receipt. You can email guests the gift card as a PDF, or keep it as table signage only.
Is this instead of a wedding list?
It can be. Say so on the invitation so people do not also bring toasters.
