What is a tribute fund?
A tribute fund is a named pot that collects donations in memory of a person — or sometimes a pet — over weeks or months, often instead of funeral flowers. It is not the same as a single in-memory gift. Large charities run tribute-fund platforms; this shop offers one-off and monthly gifts given in someone’s name, with a gift card you print yourself, which is simpler when you do not need a public fundraising page.

How is a tribute fund different from one in-memory donation?
A tribute fund stays open so many people can give, see a running total, and sometimes leave messages. A one-off in-memory gift is a single donation, which you can mark with a card in their name. Funerals often want the first. A birthday of someone who has died may only need the second.

Can you open a tribute fund for a pet?
Some platforms allow it; many funeral-oriented funds are built for people. A single gift in the pet’s name, marked with a card you print yourself, is often the kinder, clearer option: it names the animal and the kind of care you chose in their memory without forcing a public condolence wall.

How do you keep in-memory giving from feeling impersonal?
Name them. Name the animal they loved. Avoid stock phrases on the card if you can add one true detail. Do not use a funeral collection to settle a family argument about “what they would have wanted” if you have not asked the executor.
If the family asked for a specific charity, give there. Overriding a funeral notice with your preferred animal shop is not tribute. It is hijacking.
What does this shop actually offer?

What should a funeral collection actually say?
The legal name of the organisation, whether Gift Aid applies, and how to give. “Donations to animal rescue” is how money goes to the wrong till. If the family named a registered charity, use that charity’s tribute page — not a shop you like better.
If you are the family, you can still make a private dedicated gift here as well as a public collection elsewhere. Those are two instruments. Mixing them on one card confuses relatives who thought they were Gift Aiding a charity. When in doubt, follow the funeral notice, not this shop.
When should you not use a tribute fund?
When the family asked for no donations, asked for a different organisation, or when you only needed a single private gift. Also when Gift Aid on a charity collection is required and you are looking at a CIC.

Not as a shared public pot on this site. Each person would make their own dedicated gift. For a shared fund, use a charity’s tribute platform.
