These tags are named after a rescued donkey or pony’s essential care: £12 buys a week of hay, £25 pays a farrier to trim neglected hooves, £35 funds a dental check, and £50 sponsors a sanctuary place for a month. Every donkey rescue gift is a suggested amount, not a sanctuary bill.
Working donkeys carry bricks, water and loads for years with overgrown hooves and untreated teeth. At sanctuaries, routine farriery and dentistry transform their lives — and a sponsored place keeps a retired donkey safe. Nobody takes a donkey home; the till is the gift tags on this page.

Hay prices vary by region and year. Our “A week of hay” gift suggests £12, named after seven days of good hay for one rescued donkey or pony. See all donkey rescue gifts.
Can I give a donkey rescue donation as a gift?
Yes. After you donate, make a free printable gift card with their name, your message and the gift you chose, then print it or save it as a PDF to email — popular for birthdays and gifts in memory. WARN emails you a payment receipt, not a certificate. It is a charity gift, not a live donkey.
Can I take this donkey home?
No. Tags on the donkey gift page are gifts to WARN’s general fund, named after a kind of care, not an individual animal. These tags fund sanctuary care, not a pet.
Is a donkey gift Gift Aid eligible?
