Tortoises & reptiles

Proper heat, light and care for abandoned reptiles — gifts from £10.

How does my donation help tortoises & reptiles?

Reptiles are the pet trade’s quietest casualties, often kept without the heat and UV light they need. £10 funds a week of correct UV lighting and heat, £20 buys a vet check for shell or scale problems, and £35 sponsors a month of specialist care.

Tortoises, bearded dragons and snakes arrive at rescues with soft shells and metabolic bone disease — the result of years without proper UV light. Correct husbandry reverses what neglect began.

Tortoise rescue questions

What is metabolic bone disease in reptiles?

It’s a softening of bones and shell caused by keeping reptiles without UV light and the right diet. It’s common in surrendered pets and largely reversible with correct lighting, heat and calcium — exactly what these gifts fund.
