How does tortoise sponsorship work?
Tortoise sponsorship through Charity Shop supports tortoises and reptiles abandoned to WARN partner rescues, often with soft shells and bone disease from years without proper UV light. £35 a month funds housing, heat, diet and handling for one reptile — with a personalised e-certificate, giftable in someone's name.

Where your sponsorship goes
Donations are received by World Animal Rescue Network, a community interest company with a statutory asset lock — no shareholders, no private gain — which directs funds to its partner shelters and sanctuaries across Asia, Africa and South America. What does a tortoise sponsorship cover?
Housing, heat, diet and handling for one rescued reptile for a month — £35. A week of correct heat and UV light (£10) or a specialist vet check (£20) can be given one-off.
What is metabolic bone disease in reptiles?
A softening of bones and shell caused by keeping reptiles without UV light and the right diet. It is common in surrendered pets and largely reversible with correct lighting, heat and calcium — exactly what sponsorship funds.
