How does dog sponsorship work?

Dog sponsorship through Charity Shop is a monthly gift to WARN’s general fund, inspired by the care of rescued street dogs. £40 a month is the suggested amount, named after a warm kennel space, bedding, food and daily care for one rescue dog. Giving it to someone? Print them a free gift card.

Who should skip this: Skip this if you wanted to rehome a dog in the UK, needed Gift Aid, or expected a posted toy pack. Sponsorship is a monthly gift to WARN’s general fund, named after a kind of care; nobody takes the animal home. You can cancel through WARN.

Do I own or adopt this dog?

No. A monthly sponsorship here is a gift to WARN’s general fund at a suggested amount, named after a kind of care. It is not a pet and not a wild-animal adoption pack. If it is a present, print a gift card to hand over. Compare the models in sponsor vs adopt and symbolic vs care gifts.

Your sponsorship tier

You'll review the gift, optionally add a recipient's name, then complete the donation on World Animal Rescue Network's secure page with the monthly option already selected.

Where your sponsorship goes

Donations are received by World Animal Rescue Network, a community interest company with a statutory asset lock — no shareholders, no private gain — which is developing its grant-making: it assesses animal-welfare organisations before agreeing support and publishes grant records as they become available. The about page states the exact legal structure; the amounts on this page are suggested donations, reviewed quarterly (last review 22 October 2026).

Dog sponsorship questions

What does a sponsored kennel include?

It is named after a warm kennel space, bedding, daily food and care for one dog while it waits for rehoming. £40 a month is the suggested amount, not a shelter’s invoice. One-off gifts like a week of food (£10) stay available too.

Will I hear about a dog my sponsorship helps?

No. Your monthly donation goes to World Animal Rescue Network’s general fund rather than to one dog, so there is no individual dog to report on. WARN emails receipts; it does not send a certificate, and we cannot promise progress updates. It publishes grant records as they become available.
