How does elephant sponsorship work?

Elephant sponsorship through Charity Shop supports elephants rescued from logging, tourism and captivity, now cared for at WARN partner sanctuaries. Sponsorship covers food, specialist foot care and veterinary attention — from £75/month with a personalised e-certificate, giftable in someone's name.

Your sponsorship tier

You'll complete the donation on World Animal Rescue Network's secure page — the monthly option and the recipient's name carry across.

Where your sponsorship goes

Donations are received by World Animal Rescue Network, a community interest company with a statutory asset lock — no shareholders, no private gain — which directs funds to its partner shelters and sanctuaries across Asia, Africa and South America. The about page states the exact legal structure; figures on this page are reviewed quarterly (last review 17 July 2026).

Elephant sponsorship questions

What does an elephant sponsorship pay for?

Food (a rescued elephant eats up to 150kg a day — about £20 of forage and fruit), specialist foot care for damage done by working life, and routine veterinary checks. £75 a month funds a share of full sanctuary care.

Can I gift an elephant sponsorship to someone?

Yes — add their name at checkout and the personalised e-certificate and the ongoing updates are theirs. You pay; they get the relationship.
